This is a very large set of resources to introduce and practise the topic of healthy lifestyle. The lengthy PowerPoint initially introduces a set of vocabulary related to healthy and unhealthy lifestyles, with some practice activities to follow. This is a set of resources to introduce and practice 30 different sports/ leisure activities. The PowerPoint initially introduces the sports/ leisure activities with practice exercises. It includes grammar notes about the verbs jouer and faire, the use of au, du, de la, de l’ etc. There are also grammar notes about the negative form of the verb. There is a wide range of activities including match-ups, gap-fills, reading comprehensions, translations into English and French, a listening exercise, choosing the grammatically correct sentence, writing activities including one describing photos. The resource is easily adaptable. To accompany the PowerPoint there is a worksheet for all the activities, which are easily editable. This can be easily adapted for home learning. This set of resources is an excellent way to finish work on self and family. It will take at least 4 lessons. There is a build up to the main activity when pupils work in groups and create their own funny families, which they present to the rest of the class. I have used this over many years with many groups and have refined it. I can honestly say pupils love doing it. Everything is presented in a step-by-step format and could be used by a non-specialist or cover teacher. There are two Power Points and range of worksheets. The first PowerPoint is to re-cap work on self and family and will be a lead into the main activity. In this first PowerPoint three members of the same family present information about themselves – the first very simply, the next has more information and the third is a longer text. For the first two family members there are differentiated exercises – very simple with circling the correct answer or true and false to open ended questions. You can choose to use different tasks for different ability groups within the class or it can all be used for the whole class. The second PowerPoint introduces the group activity in a step-by-step way. Pupils will work in groups to create a funny family, but each person in the group will be responsible for one family member so ultimately each pupil will be producing their own piece of work. There are several help sheets for pupils of all abilities and there are answers for all exercises included. Finally the pupils will present their families in groups to the rest of the class. They can be assessed on the written work produced and/or the oral presentation.

For pupils studying the Perfect Tense, this is a whole set of resources based on an exciting murder mystery. It includes, not only the murder mystery, but starter activities, two plenaries, extension documents, lesson plans etc. Pupils work in groups and compete against the other groups to solve the murder first. This set of resources was used for both Ofsted and internally reviews lessons which were rated as 'outstanding'. The objectives are: To enhance thinking skills in order to participate effectively in a team and reflect on learning.
